Svensk Musikvår

White-backed woodpecker, birdsong from Brooklyn Bridge, a mingle that turns into music – and no fewer than fifteen premieres. These are just some of the features when the Swedish Music Spring festival celebrates its tenth anniversary and lets contemporary music ring out over the city from March 15–23.

For nine days, Stockholm’s stages will be filled with some of the country’s most prominent ensembles and conductors in around fifteen concerts with premieres, Swedish premieres and unique encounters between musicians, composers and audiences.

This year’s festival revolves around nature, existence and music’s ability to reflect our times. Man’s eternal interaction with the earth, animals and climate, as well as life’s big questions – time, movement and memory – are reflected in a variety of expressions: playful experiments, humour, celebration, contemplation and spirituality.

A warm welcome to experience the Swedish Music Spring with us!
